The Glorious Spring Continues to Motivate

It is an event for sure when there is an entire week of 14 degrees - 19 degrees Celsius in Canada in mid March. I remember March, because it is the month my son was born and it has never been this warm at this time of year at least since I have been in this country.

I have heard however that a nasty virus is going around and every time someone mentions virus, I am pretty sure one of us will come down with it.

Please pray that it doesn't happen and we maintain our good health for the sake of enjoying this weather and being virus free for the last few days of this pregnancy!

Here are some photos again!

Yesterday for the first time K said that he wanted to. "Outside Paulina, make sand castles". I remember last year it was that particular therapist who took him out with some sand toys, and may be they made sand castles? Not sure. What a memory. But since the boy rarely asks for such things, we do what we can to make it happen.

In other news I have been a mother for 6 years this week. K doesn't know what a birthday is nor does he know that that 6 is more than 5. Because I spent considerable time since last year trying to get him to correctly answer his age (just for fun!) he still says 5 when I ask him how old he is. I have been insisting this week that he say 6 to that question and he is very confused.

We don't throw birthday parties in this house. (And it is not a practice of the Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings upon him).) Although my parents threw me and my sisters birthday parties for years with cake, friends, presents and sometimes even themes! I never did one for my son, even before we learned of his autism or started taking the Sunnah more seriously. I guess now K himself highlights for us the futility of celebrating one day of the year as his day or a special day. He is the beating of our hearts and our entire lives revolve around him. Every day with him is special and to him every day is just another day!

So say a prayer for him that he remains surrounded by those who love and care for him for the rest of his life. Ameen!
