Rocking downtown all the way to China town

"We are going to bus". That is one of Khaled's favorite scripts when going out. It is his way of declaring, confirming or just requesting a ride on the bus.

Waiting very excitedly at the bus stop with dad.

The excitement of being on the bus has overwhelmed this little boy and he must squeeze his syes shut.

We sit close so we can rock to the motion of the bus. An exercise in self regulation and physically helping the child to feel what it is like to be calm.

Looking in the tunnels for an approaching train is too satisfying. Falling on the tracks while jumping up and down with excitement is a potential hazard.

Windchill of -4 degrees C. Refuge inside a bakery in China town. (GFCF down the toilet, dad is not happy with the infraction).

A spinny thing helps him get through the long lineup at the vegetable market cash register.

Didn't take to the ride back home. Too cold? Been too calm for too long?

Picking a fight with the coat zipper.

Way home.

Walking, waiting, rocking, slowing down, quietude. I think we covered a few basic RDI stuff on Sunday morning.
